While estrogens are present in both men and women, they are usually present at significantly higher levels in women of reproductive age. Estrogens promote the formation of female secondary sex characteristics by maintaining smooth texture skin, regulating fat stores, regulating menstruation cycle, stimulating endometrial growth, increasing uterine growth, thickening the vaginal wall, improving sexual desire, increasing vaginal lubrication, triggering ovulation and helping in implantation of fertilized egg. In males, estrogen regulates the maturation of sperm and support a healthy libido.

Estrogens plays very important roles in bone formation, collagen synthesis, prevention of atherosclerosis, anti-inflammation and regulating the immune system. Estrogen is important to prevent mood swing, depression and obsessive and compulsive disorder(OCD).

Traditionally, it is used to promote blood circulation, antispasmodic, lower blood glucose, anti-inflammation and regulating female sex hormone.

Pueraria Mirifica contains miroestrol and deoxymiroestrol. Pueraria Mirifica also contains other compound that belong to isoflavones and Coumestan groups of phyto-estrogens. However, Pueraria Mirifica is hundreds of times more potent than that of soy isoflavones.

Phytoestrogen is not estrogen. It is estimated to be 500 to 1000 times weaker than the estradiol (estrogen) molecule and acts only in a protective way without any side effect.

Clinical studies

Clinical studies on estrogens in humans as a food supplement or functional food product has shown its estrogenic effects on skin complexion, hair complexity, breast firmness, and inducing breast enlargement.
